About me

My name is Lea, i’m 32, i live in Durham, North East England, with my husband, my 2 adopted daughters and our Labrador.
We tried to conceive naturally for a number of years and then tried some fertility treatments including IVF but it was all unsuccessful. We then decided to give up on fertility treatment.
Our daughters arrived in our life totally unexpectedly and in an unusual way.
Read my story as I explain my journey to motherhood and the obstacles I’ve had to go through to get there.
I was asked recently what was the biggest achievement in my life. I replied ‘adopting my daughters’ and then burst into tears. I never knew how massive it was until I looked at it in that way. They are my everything and I am glad to be their mother.
Never give up on your journey to motherhood. I gave up on fertility treatment but always wanted to be a mother.
I still would love a baby, to experience pregnancy. I’m hoping that dream will come true one day. We’ll see what happens….
